ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
The Malam Yahaya Hamza Educational Foundation was set-up and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission on 6th November, 2015. A year after the demise of the educational icon, Malam Yahaya Hamza, an educationist per-excellence, a seasoned administrator, a teacher, principal, permanent secretary and Director-General of education both at state and Federal Ministry of Education respectively. The idea behind establishing the foundation is to continue with the legacy of catering for education of orphans, less privilege and vulnerable as done by Malam Yahaya Hamza himself when he was alive.
To be among the leading non-profit organization that champion the course of providing educational support and development to orphans, less privilege and physically challenged (disabled) in the society to fully achieve their potentials.
To impact positively in reducing high rate of uneducated youths amongst orphans, less privilege and vulnerable in the society by providing all necessary supports towards achieving their life time ambition in education.
To seek and select outstanding students in science, technology and related fields who are orphans, less privilege and people with special needs from various schools and provide them with scholarship in order to continue with their education in different institutions.
To reach out to stakeholders in different communities to appreciate the work of the foundation and identify these set of students with a view to provide adequate support and guidance to enable them develop a career path.
To initiate training and development, exploit other educational activities that would enhance the capacity of the students to be more in tune with the global best practices and also source and distribute educational materials to secondary and tertiary institutions.
To provide support for infrastructural development in schools.
To engage and support orphans, less privilege and students with special needs in skills acquisition, while Learning, Earning and Living (LEL).
Collaborate with other foundations and organizations with similar objectives to enhance positive change to these students.

The foundation as being established is meant to continue catering for the following:
Orphans: Children who lost their parents and unable to cater for their educational pursuit.
Vulnerable: Children that are hopeless due to absence of support from any quarters.
Less Privilege: These children that their parents could not afford basic necessities of life to enable them cater for the educational needs of the children.
People with Special Needs: These are group of people that are physically challenged due to blindness, visually impaired, deaf, cripples etc.
Infrastructural Intervention: Rehabilitation of existing structures such as classes, toilets, roofs, provision of furniture items and learning aids.
The foundation is expected to derive its funds through the following:
Launching proceeds (Biography Book)
Sponsorship
Grants/Aids
Donations
Zakkat “Tithe”
Funds raised or generated by foundation through National and International Affiliate
However, it is to be noted that all the activities that have been carried out right from the establishment to date, it is being borne out of the proceeds from the book launch. We are looking forward to receiving funds from the other sources soon.
